The Time Dilation Copyright Loophole

As technology advances, our society is likely to develop the ability to travel through space at or near the speed of light. In his Theory of Relativity, Albert Einstein suggested that time would pass much slower for persons or things that are travelling at or near the speed of light. This effect is known as "Time Dilation".

Current copyright law states that works will enter the public domain 70 years past the death of the original author. While this is law is suitable for our time period, it has a fundamental flaw in assuming that content creators are going to die. By travelling near the speed of light, content creators will be able to greatly extend their own lifetimes and the duration of their copyrights. By travelling at the speed of light, they'll be able to live forever, thus making their copyrights eternal.

Clearly, travel at or near the speed of light poses a serious risk to the public domain, as it will allow the Music And Film Industries of America to establish permanent monopolies on artistic works. Moreso, it will create a new class of citizen, known as "Temporal Whipping Boys", who will be shot into space for the sole purpose of perpetuating copyrights.
